With Singapore moving to becoming a digital economy, a digital government and a digital society in line with its Secure Smart Nation goals, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has established the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in 2013, whereby its main role is to administer and enforce the Personal Data Protection Act in Singapore.
With the promotion and regulation of data protection as data sharing is becoming more pervasive, IMDA has stepped up personal data protection initiatives such as introducing Personal Data Protection Certification programs.
