SS670: 2021 Specification for Good Aquaculture Practice
SS 670: Specification for good aquaculture practice” is developed to provide guidance to local aquaculture farms on a holistic approach of farm management in the areas of food safety, animal health and welfare, environmental integrity and workers health and safety. With this standard which is in-line with regional and international aquaculture farming standards, local farms can adopt best practices for quality assurance in aquaculture production while protecting the farm environment.
The SS670 caters to different aquaculture systems in Singapore, ranging from open-cage farming, pond farming and closed containment farming systems for fish, crustaceans, and molluscs. It specifies best practices from pre-production starting from nursery to production, harvesting and post-harvesting prior to delivery of aquaculture products for both land-based and open water aquaculture.
