ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management System

SOCOTEC Certification Singapore (SCS) has been providing Quality Management System certification audit since 1995 and it is accredited through SC (UK) office by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC).

ISO 9001 is applies to any organization, regardless of size or industry. More than one million organizations from more than 160 countries have implemented ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

ISO 9001 is based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology and provides a risk and process-oriented approach to organize the structure, responsibilities, and procedures required to achieve the organizational quality objectives in fulfilling the relevant stakeholders’ requirements. The standard contain information on topics such as:

        • Requirements for risk-based thinking to support and improve the understanding and application of the process approach
        • Responsibilities and involvement of the top management
        • Requirement to define the boundaries of the QMS
        • Increased emphasis on organizational context
        • Greater emphasis on processes being managed to achieve planned results
        • Alignment with strategic direction
        • Integration of the QMS into organization’s business processes

Transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015

The ISO Technical Committee has revised the existing ISO 9001:2008 standard to ISO 9001:2015. The ISO 9001:2015 standard was officially published on 15th September 2015. Therefore, companies certified to ISO 9001:2008 are given three years to transit. ISO 9001:2008 will be discontinued by 15th September 2015.
